Rotobrush Vent Sanitizing: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide

If your Rotobrush vent sanitizing system is down, we stock and install Rotobrush-compatible sanitizing parts throughout San Antonio, and most swaps run between $145 and $410 installed depending on which component failed. Most San Antonio owners discover the problem the same way: the sanitizer stops fogging, the pump whines without pulling solution, or the chemical feed line has gone brittle and cracked. You’ll get a written price before we touch anything, and we keep the common failure parts on the truck.

The part that fails first on Rotobrush sanitizing systems in South Texas is almost always the solution feed line or the atomizing nozzle, not the pump itself. Heat and low humidity bake the vinyl tubing until it turns amber and splits at the barb fittings. What starts as a faint chemical smell near the unit becomes a system that runs but doesn’t actually deliver sanitizer into the airstream. Marcus Veale has seen enough of these to tell you within a minute on the phone whether it’s the line, the nozzle, or something deeper.

Which Rotobrush Models This Applies To

Rotobrush has used a few different sanitizing configurations over the years, and the part you need depends on which one is mounted in your system. The older FogMaster-style setups use a gravity-fed reservoir with a brass atomizing nozzle, while the newer aiR+ and RotoSweep-era units typically run a low-pressure pump circuit with quick-connect fittings and a plastic mister tip that threads into a manifold. They are not interchangeable. The nozzle for a FogMaster will not seat in an aiR+ manifold, and forcing it strips the threads inside the housing.

If you’re not sure which one you have, look at the sanitizer reservoir. A gravity-fed unit has the reservoir mounted above the nozzle with a visible drip line. A pump-fed unit has the reservoir at the bottom and two small vinyl lines running up to the injection point. That single detail tells us which parts family we’re pulling from before we even open the van. We use OEM Rotobrush parts when the job calls for it, and on the older discontinued FogMaster components we keep a quality aftermarket equivalent that matches the original thread pitch and orifice size. Same fit, same mist pattern, often at half the OEM price.

Signs Your Rotobrush Vent Sanitizing Is Failing

  • The unit runs but no mist comes out. This is usually a clogged nozzle or a cracked feed line that’s pulling air instead of solution. In San Antonio’s hard water, mineral scale builds inside the nozzle orifice and blocks it within a season or two.
  • You smell sanitizer near the machine but not in the ductwork. That means the line has split somewhere between the reservoir and the injection point, and the solution is pooling inside the cabinet instead of being atomized into the airstream.
  • The pump makes a dry clicking or buzzing sound. A pump that’s been running dry because the feed line cracked will burn out its internal diaphragm faster than one that always has solution at the intake. This is a $40 line turning into a $200 pump if it’s ignored.
  • Reservoir level doesn’t drop after a full cycle. If the sanitizer level isn’t moving, nothing is being delivered, period. That’s either a blocked pickup tube or a pump that has lost prime and can’t recover.
  • The sanitizer line looks amber, stiff, or cracked at the barbs. In Texas attic heat, vinyl tubing breaks down faster than in cooler climates. If the line looks baked, it’s already on borrowed time even if it hasn’t split yet.

For San Antonio Rotobrush sanitizing repairs, here’s what you’re looking at, parts and labor included:

  • Atomizing nozzle or mister tip: $85 – $160
  • Pickup tube and check valve assembly: $95 – $150
  • Pump replacement (if it’s burned out): $210 – $410

Every quote is one flat price for the part and the labor, written down before we start. No per-fitting add-ons, no surprise line items at the end. DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself. Look at the feed line for cracks or brittleness. Check whether the reservoir has solution in it. Confirm the unit is getting power. Those observations help us, and honestly, Marcus will walk you through what to look for before we ever schedule a visit. Tell me what you’re seeing, and I’ll tell you whether it’s worth fixing.

What you shouldn’t do is open the pump housing or try to force a clogged nozzle clean with a wire or pin. The atomizer orifice is precision-sized for the sanitizer’s viscosity, and reaming it out changes the mist pattern so the sanitizer doesn’t distribute evenly. That’s a cheap-looking fix that ruins the spray quality. We carry the common Rotobrush sanitizing parts on the truck in San Antonio, so most of these jobs are one visit. Call (430) 233-7681 and we’ll tell you straight what it is and what it costs.
